Overview
Sycamore Printing provides an FTP site to make it easy
to transfer files to/from our clients and other consultants.
Our FTP site has an address of: ftp.sycamoreink.com
and is available anywhere with internet access.
Our FTP site has two distinct modes: Anonymous mode
and password-protected mode.

anonymous mode
!!! NOTICE !!!
Files may be deleted from the anonymous Sycamore Printing
FTP site after 30 days. Sycamore Printing anonymous
FTP site is open to all. Sensitive or proprietary files
should be placed in password protected PKZIP compatible
files. Only Information Services may delete files.

password-protected mode

Files may be deleted from the password-protected Sycamore
Printing FTP site after 30 days. Files are hidden from
view from all except the holder(s) of the appropriate
username and password.
Below, you will find instructions that can be used for
anonymous mode and for password-protected mode.

Anonymous
Mode
Anonymous mode does not require a special username or
password and is open to anybody for uploads. Sycamore
Printing anonymous FTP site is open to all. Sensitive
or proprietary files should be placed in password protected
PKZIP compatible files.
NOTE:
Files may be deleted from the anonymous Sycamore Printing
FTP site after 30 days. Only Sycamore Printing may delete
files. You do not have permissions to remove files.
You
may transfer files to and from Sycamore Printing anonymous
ftp site using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape
Navigator, Microsoft's command line FTP utility, and
most standard FTP clients. The latest version of Microsoft
Internet Explorer is recommended. The following instructions
explain how to use the anonymous mode FTP site with
Internet Explorer.
FTP
using Microsoft Internet Explorer
1. Connect to the FTP site: You must first connect
using the URL (address) ftp://ftp.sycamoreink.com.
2. To Download Files:
Once connected to the above URL, locate the file you
need on the screen and double-click on it. You will
be prompted to Open or Save the file. You will want
to save the file. The default is to save the file in
the last location you saved a file. You may override
this by browsing or creating a new directory. Alternatively,
you may highlight the file, right-click and
Copy to Folder.
3. To Upload Files:
Once connected to the above URL, locate the folder you
wish to upload files into. Open Windows Explorer, browse
for the file to upload and drag it to the Internet Explorer
window opened to the public folder.

Password-Protected
Mode
Password protected mode requires a special username
or password given to you by Sycamore Printing. Files
are hidden from view from all except the holder(s) of
the appropriate username and password. NOTE: Files may
be deleted from the password-protected Sycamore Printing
FTP site after 30 days.
You may transfer files to and from Sycamore Printing
password-protected ftp site using Microsoft Internet
Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Microsoft's command line
FTP utility, and most standard FTP clients. The latest
version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended.
The following instructions explain how to use the password-protected
mode FTP site with Internet Explorer.
FTP
using a Microsoft Internet Explorer
1. Connect to the FTP site: You must first connect
using the URL (address) ftp://ftp.sycamoreink.com.
The "anonymous mode" folder should
be displayed.
2. Login to the password-protected site: From
the File menu, then "Login As...". Type the
username and password as provided by Information Services.
If you successfully login to the password-protected
site you will see the appropriate directory structure
for that site.
3. To Download Files:
Once connected to the above URL, locate the file you
need on the screen and double-click on it. You will
be prompted to Open or Save the file. You will want
to save the file. The default is to save the file in
the last location you saved a file. You may override
this by browsing or creating a new directory. Alternatively,
you may highlight the file, right-click and Copy
to Folder.
4. To Upload Files:
Once connected to the above URL, locate the folder you
wish to upload files into. Open Windows Explorer, browse
for the file to upload and drag it to the Internet Explorer
window opened to the public folder.
